guess who scrapped?

Green Tangerines has a brand new kit club! So rad! The amazing ladies asked if I would play along with a kit during their blog party. (They are having a huge blog party until July 1st- with lots of awesome scrappers rocking the kit and over $1000 in prizes! holy cats! scrap deliciousness...)

I was so stoked to HAVE to scrap.
Like- here- take the baby. I HAVE to do this. Cuz it's my job. To make something.
sigh.
who knew one could miss paper and glue so much?
Anyway- they sent me this amazing kit. All crazy bright and bold...and it HAD STARS + LEDGER. sigh. And fuzzy brads and thickers! delicious.
Being that my world is consumed with this new tiny man who is nearly attached to me- I was only able to squeak out one layout right now- but the kit is so loaded with goodies that once he decides to start napping outside of the cozy confines of my arms- I will surely be scrapping some more!

Here's what I came up with:

the photo at the top is from the front of Keaton's birth announcement. My apologies for ruining the surprise for those 3 people who's envelopes are sitting here on my desk- awaiting a proper current address.

so, yeah...my apologies to all who have commented and have perhaps been wondering why their comment hadn't appeared on my blog.
yeah... I had comment approval turned on apparently.
and didn't know it.

so I thought- well, maybe no one is reading... or no one cares...I guess I'll just keep writing for myself. and my mom. good times.

there was a small slew of comments just waiting for me to say ok.

now we are six (weeks)

the boy is 6 weeks old now...

well, almost 7 since this post is a bit delayed.
madness.
still quite a slim peanut of a man...
but he's getting bigger.
clothes and diapers are getting snugger.
here he is rocking the robots cloth:

it sounds weird to say I love a diaper... but I love that diaper.

he's also getting more generous with the smiles...
and after having it all up in his grill several times a day for the entirety of his life so far- he's finally discovered the star mobile I made...

we've been getting more adventurous...
tackled the chiropractor and doctor a couple times.
even hit Target just he and I the other day.
today we might swing past The Bead Monkey...
and see if Ty and Zacs are around for a visit.
even just sitting outside on a blanket in the backyard.
the world is all new and fantastic when we get out beyond the second floor family room we've been living in for weeks on end.
in the beginning it was a nice cozy nest...
and now it feels so good to get out and stretch and see other humans.

and come home to the nest.

ready to emerge...

it's amazing how tricky it is to get around to what used to be the simplest things...
I so want to blog more about these days, this time with this boy and how our lives are now...
but it's hard to do when one's caught up in the cycle I mentioned below.
also hard to type with small boy in one arm and the other trying to both type and keep the nuk in babe's mouth.
I thought today- I wish there was a way to blog where I didn't have to type.
like I could just say it all.
as if such a thing doesn't exist.
trouble with video blogging is that I'd have to try to squeeze in a shower + time to do my hair and face before hand...and that's more of a challenge than typing one handed...
so here I am.
in this fog of the first three months...
with this amazing tiny man.
my sweet Keaton.
who is almost six weeks old.
we are halfway.
I so don't want to wish this time away.
he WILL only be this tiny once.
it's just that I feel like we are in survival mode...
and I'm ready to emerge.

and the cycle continues

crazy that these photos are already outdated...as babe is now over 3 weeks old.  He's like a man now.
life just keeps rolling along.
our days are an ongoing cycle of diaper, boob, snooze.
with some mild excitement thrown in.
a trip to grandmas.
a childbirth collective meeting.
a string of visitors.
Keaton's first play date today.
He pooped upon their arrival. Then ate and passed out. We may have to have a discussion on manners and hosting friends later...

it's amazing how exhausting that cycle can be.  it doesn't look like much typed out. but it really wears me down. thankfully he sleeps really well at night. And he's generally pretty agreeable.  Only really rages when he decides he wants to eat and there isn't a boob in his face immediately...or when the mad gas takes over his whole tiny frame. The boy is not a fan of the farties.
but we've been surviving...despite the exhaustion. Thanks in no small part to massive help from my mom, our crazy supportive and always accessible midwives, and Ben.  Ben loving this baby is about the most brilliant thing I've ever seen. They are both quite smitten with each other and I can't wait to see that grow as Keaton grows...and can eventually go longer than 15 minutes without needing something in that diaper, boob, snooze cycle.
