Oh it does so feel fabulous to start a new album and be all current...(staying current and caught up is one of my major goals for this project this year...we're not going to talk about how many weeks are still missing from last year's book... I'm working on it, I'm working on it. Much more fun to be recording what's happening right now, than trying to remember why I selected a certain photo from the middle of August and what exactly I wanted to say about it...)
I am still needing to get our full spread intro page finished (still need a photo of "Gaga"/my mom) - so I will share that when I finally finish it- but I do have January all complete...wanna see?
week one-
(that's our New Year's card in the little insert)
week two
now, I'm going to come right out and admit that I do not like this week (above). Just don't like how it looks... I think it's the cards- especially on the left side. Too much large title-like text on the 3x4 cards...I tried to mix it up with a couple other editions (my main kit so far is cobalt) and it's just too many big words shouting at me. I kind of want to fix it, and I kind of just want to move on... I will probably do the latter and realize that this project for me is more about getting the stories down and the look of it as a whole. It's good for the perfectionist in me to have to roll with this and move on. HA!
week 3-
this was the week of mega inserts. First up- Keaton got a camera at a garage sale this summer, and he's been snapping away ever since. We finally got a card reader to get the photos off the camera and onto my computer. Keaton kept taking photos and saying "We need to put this one in Project Life!" - and how can you say no to that?! So, we got the card reader and Keaton and I went through the images and chose 40 faves and popped them in this coin page protector. LOVE to have his eye in the book...
the other side of the coin holder w Keaton's photos- and my new fave shot of my boys...my camera was being a punk and wouldn't focus but took the shot anyway and I cursed my camera- until I came home and saw the image and swooned. Love it. so dreamy.
the backside of the 8x12 page protector is a photo of the boys at the Conservatory...and the right hand side of the week's layout.
week 4-
pretty typical week spread... I did however use a card from this set that I love- the "this is a photo I didn't take" card is perfect for those times when an event slips by and you don't bust out your camera. We had friends over the other night for dinner and kiddo playtime and it was such a blast and we all had fun and I was just so present...that I forgot to get a shot of anything! Enter the "this is a photo I didn't take" card... Just wrote what I wish I would have captured. Love that.
(green speech bubble card is from the upcoming Rain kit)
week 5-
and that's it... that's January.
products used-
and cobalt kit

Nisa -
Did you make that New Years card yourself? If so, do you have the template for purchase anywhere? I love all the itty bitty pics. It would be great for including LOTS of pics from events (bdays) or holidays too!!
Thanks!
