thank you to my family: for being awesome. for traveling from near and far. for filling our house with happy and love and fun this holiday. for bringing wine and treats. for staying up late to play Cards Against Humanity and making me laugh til I nearly peed my pants. thank you for everything
thank you to Ben: for being the best daddy. for being so handy and crafty. for knowing me. for drinking plenty of wine and getting totally silly during cards. for being. and always loving me lots.
thank you to my mom: for totally taking on the dinner so I didn't have to think about it. for being so on top of clean up. for loving my boys so hard every day. for being here for all of us. for being ever amazing. for everything ever.
thank you to my boys: for sleeping in until 8am xmas morning. for making the best excited Christmas morning faces ever. for being so grateful for everything they received. for being so excited to give. for lighting up my whole stinkin' world every day. and for cracking me up on the regular.
thank you to my lady loves: Hannah, Kirsten and Nikki- for squeezing in friend times in the whirlwind of before xmas. I love you each so much and I am so thankful for the awesome you bring into my life.
thank you to Meghan: for being effing awesome. and for just being. love you.
thank you to Josh: for playing Crimes Against Manatees throughout the day and making it seem a little like we got to hang out, even though we didn't get to see each other...
thank you to Steve and Nikki: for acting as Santa's storage shed. Much appreciated!! You guys are always awesome and we love you lots.
thank you to Uncle Kavan: for really stepping up and assembling xmas toys, playing countless games and reading probably thousands of books to my boys. the only downside here is that they are going to be crazy bummed when you leave again.
thank you to YL essential oils: for keeping my house smelling awesome, but more importantly, for helping things to go smoothly- Keaton tends to wig out when the house is full (he is super sensitive to sounds, activity, energy, crowds, etc) and we ran Orange oil and Thieves in the diffuser- and had zero meltdowns- from anyone. It was a Christmas miracle. for serious.
thank you to craigslist: for helping Santa score some seriously sweet deals on exactly the right gifts.
(on xmas I really try to focus on being in the moment and not looking for the perfect photo shots- so I take very few photos- and what I do get, is nothing spectacular- but it's real and it's us and it's a sign of me being present rather than behind the camera, looking for perfection. so it's good.)
(also, a bonus NO THANK YOU! to my camera and or lens for this trick it's been pulling for months- where is focuses right behind my subject REALLY NICE and leaves my subject crazy blurry. Anyone know why it does this? Or if it's more likely my camera or lens? GAH! so stinkin' maddening...)
(look how crisp that tree is?? The camera focal point was toggled right on Keaton's face. eff you camera.)
to make up for the random grab shots above... I give you the cuteness from the day before, when- for an early Christmas present- the boys sat still (while Ben invented "poop jokes"... "two poops walk into a bar...") and let me take pictures of them being adorable and together. Best present.
hope your holiday was beyond magical, and the new year brings you an abundance of awesome!
