well hello January.
time to start another Project Life album. Which I always find so exciting. (I'm just trying not to kick myself for getting behind on last year... again. It's that September... I don't know why. It always gets me.) So, I've got to try to finish last year (cuz I did the same thing the year before... damn. MUST FINISH.) and I'm starting this year. Everyone at my house is on alert that I need a new cute alone pic of them for our intro page. (and everyone is SUPER excited. hahahaa... sigh.) I'm thinking I'll start the same way I have the past two years- first page of just intro cards... this year I will be using these gems:
just trying to decide if I want to keep the colors as shown.. or change them. (a brush set is included so you can totally customize color...)
then the first spread is the intro to us- a headshot of each person- and a shot of the fam or the boys... and a bit about where we are right now, what we're into, etc.
this was last year-
Squeal! Look how tiny the boys were... sigh, must wrap them in bonsai wire soon to stop that pesky growing business...
so I'll bang out one of those... and then get to work on week one.
But this year I'm going all digi. Hubba WHA? I know.. all digi. See, I work all my photos, and make a mock-up layout in Photoshop already- that's just how I roll (read: control freak) But the past two years, I have then ordered prints and stuck it all in the page protectors and written out my journaling on the cards. Sort of like I'm doing it twice. So, I'm going to try all digi this year. Laying it out for real- not just mock-up. And ordering a bound album at the end of the year (Have you seen Lindsay's? Holy cats. WANT.) My only hesitation here was that I love including little bits- ticket stubs, tags, doodles from the boys, etc... But my plan is to scan them. (seems easy enough now... we'll see if that remains true as the year goes on...)
So! Supplies... obviously I have my own goodies to pull from... and a stash of official Project Life digital core kits... I can't decide if I want to pick one and run with it? Or just make it a hot mess of eclectic awesome? (I'm leaning toward the latter...)
Also debating on the traditional rounded corners or square corners. I'd been considering square- then I saw Cathy's and it might have pushed me over the edge. Such decisions... HA!
All that's left now is to flippin' decide and dive in.
And in case all those decisions aren't enough to get me jazzed about starting my new album in this new year...There's this happening soon--->
True Scrap Pocket Pages is THE event for Project Life/pocket nerds like me scrapbookers! Whether you're totally in love with the pocket scrapping and Project Life is old hat for you or you've never scrapped this way (or at all!) in your life- this event is for you my friend. I am totally ready to nerd out to the max learn lots of new things.
And my favorite part? It's online. I don't have to peel crying children off my legs and head out into the Polar vortex to get my learn on. It's happening on my computer (and yours!) in my own house. And it's all recorded- so if I'm midway into one of the hour long classes and Ollie wakes up from his nap- I don't curse his name for wrecking my scrappy time... I just come back later. What's up!
So I know you're stoked to dive in- but hold your horses, friend. It starts January 25th. While you wait you can read over the awesome class descriptions (ok- just checked- site says coming soon... so as of now you can read class titles and instructors here- And head over to the site later to read descriptions... all kinds of ways to kill the time.)
*Hybrid Hints for Paper People from Traci Reed
*Pocket Scrapping 101: Back to Basics from Layle Koncar

You'll have plenty of time to interact with the instructors live, asking them all your burning pocket scrapbooking questions. Sponsors include: Simon Says Stamp, Gossamer Blue, Project Life, Studio Calico, and Simple Stories... it's going to be an incredibly colorful, creative, and community-filled day.
True Scrap Pocket Pages is produced by scrapbook superhero Lain Ehmann, founder of the True Scrap events. To date, she's produced dozens of online virtual events, helping thousands of women find simplicity, inspiration, and fun in their scrapbooking.

So get on it friend-o. Cuz it's gonna be a whole bunch of awesome. I'm excited.
Nisa, hot mess of eclectic awesome is definitely the way to go! :) I had to laugh about your switch from pocket page protectors to digital photobooks this year, because I am doing the exact opposite! We all need a change from time to time, don't we? I'm also ditching the rounded corners. I still think they look nice, but I'm tired of them. I was thinking the $99 off coupon for True Scrap was a half-off coupon, which would mean that it was still way expensive, but apparently I can't do math (I already knew this), so thank you for pointing out that the price after coupon is only $50! I may have to sign up after all. :)
